SWIS Enabling

We run daily, weekend and evening enabling throughout the year, with additional weekday activities during school holidays.  As well as our site-based activities we get out and about too! Our friendly, caring staff are on hand to support and engage with all our young people, as they take part in a wide range of play, social and practical activities. Services provided include one to one support for children with a broad range of disabilities and conditions, independent living skills, readiness for transition to adult services/college etc.

‘College and Career ready’

Transition is not easy for most individuals but adjusting to new situations can be even more challenging for those with disabilities. Entering college for the first time or embarking on his/her first job interview is inevitably an exciting yet anxiety- provoking experience. Both experiences are more likely to be rewarding if the individual meets these periods of transition with confidence.

At Southwest Intervention Services these skills for college and career readiness can be developed through experiential learning environments and may include:

- Visits to colleges / work place

- Advocacy

- CV preparation

- Budgeting / money management

- Application process support

- Work experience

- Mock interviews

- Independent living skills

Direct payments can be used to fund all enabling support - for more information please contact
